This bad end happens during the intro if you’ve already played the intro you need to start over. Start a new game and don’t skip the intro. When talking to the horse boy choose go on your own.

This will later lead you to a map shown below, starting at the yellow box. You’re now locked to this map and a variable is counted every time you walk over the red market areas (Note that some areas are market but still requires you to walk over the white boxes which is located on the opposite side of the image). You can walk back and forth over these areas to trigger it faster, walking over the areas 5 times triggers the bad end which occurs in the middle of the map.
